Are you concerned about mines that have been rehabilitated or not rehabilitated sufficiently in the Northern Territory?

Abandoned mines need to be rehabilitated and made sure that pollutants do not contaminate surrounding lands and waterways, that the landform is safe and stable for cattle to graze and the rehabilitated land is sustainable. Governments may foot the bill unless companies’ budget sufficient security bonds for mine rehabilitation. Experts are concerned they are seeing a steady downgrade of what the rehabilitation will look like throughout the life of a mine.

Should RU486 be legalised in the NT?

Should medical practitioners be allowed to prescribe RU486, a non-surgical form of pregnancy termination, and the drug to be legalised in the NT to give choice for Territory women and girls?

It is an abortion pill which is legal in all other states of Australia. The Australian Medical Association NT has now joined with the National AMA in supporting the use of RU486 under medical supervision.
